CHALLENGE 6: MULTIFIE

THE TRIATHLON CHALLENGE

Here we are again! With new hopes to win the challenge and build a spectacular robot!
This time, we need more motivation than ever, because this challenge is the hardest one we're going to be through
It consists of building a three-in-one robot, and not only do we have to build it and make it capable of doing three different things, but also, we can't disassemble it or change pieces while it's doing the challenge.
We have no idea of how this will turn out, but one thing is, we will have more time than in the other challenges, since it's a harder one.
These are the rules our teachers gave us:
Design, create and program a robot that is capable of winning the TRIATHLON.

ELEMENTS:
We will use three motors, a color sensor and a button to start the program.
There can be a different program for each thing the robot has to do, so we can make 3 programs.
We can also use all the pieces we want, like we did in the third challenge.

Besides these rules, they attached a document with all the things the robots must do:
Robot shot put

Robot race

Robot combat (the same as the Strongfie challenge)

04/02
We absolutely didn't know what we would do for this challenge at the beginning of the class, but after finf¡ding some good ideas on the internet, we have a concept.
For the shot put, we want to do something similar to the previous challenge, but at the same time, it needs to be a little different, since the robot doesn't have to move cubes and has to throw little balls.
Today has completely been a building thay, we'd be lying if we said it wasn't productive, but we would've liked to do more stuff.
Speaking about something else, we decided to rename Alfie once again, and now, his name Multifie, because it has to do lots of things without even disassembling the robot.
See you in the next challenge, we''l bring you some news about Alfie!

07/02

Hello to our robotics friends, today we decided that we were going to recycle our previous fighting program from the third challenge.
You can see the fighting program clicking here FIGHTING PROGRAM!
Or you can visit our entire third challenge entry by clicking here STRONGFIE CHALLENGE 3
We have also built our Multifie basic structure ready to perform all three activities.

We are going to leave you with these authentic and stunning marvelous photo sesion called:

"ALFIE KNOWS NO LIMITS"

Always remember friends, dreams will come true, but we always, need to be patient and...

NEVER GIVE UP!!!!
C'MON FRIENDS, GO AND SHOW YOUR TRUE SELF!!!

14/02
Certainly, it has been some time since our last update, we have been busy with other projects and stuff, and thanks partially to this, one member of our group has made his departure. Now, we are a group of three. We're not really sad about it, it's not really a big deal, we can work as well as we did before, and furthermore, there have been (and there are) many legendary groups of three throughout history, such as:
Javier Santaolalla, Jordi Wild and Mr. Crespo

The Spider-Men

The Jonas Brothers

Pokรฉmon's Team Rocket

Harry Potter's main trio
Harry, Ron and Hermione

Shrek, Donkey and the Puss in boots

Maggie, Bart and Lisa

Aristotle, Plato and Socrates

Well, we hope to be as legendary as this groups of 3, but in our robotics class, we hope Multifie slays and does everything right!
Something that's also important is that today is Valentine's day! Sadly, we're not going to celebrate it, you may be wondering, why wouldn't you? It is because our little Alfie doesn't have  a partner. Alfie is single, and he's always been single, so, untuil he finds another robot that will love it and take care of it as a partner, until he finds his other half, we won't celebrate Valentine's day.
About building the robot and making the program, we've made some progress today, Alfie's structure has changed a little, but it isn't finished, and we are certain it will keep changing continuously until the challenge day.
We don't know how many Multifie versions therte will be until the challenge day, which, by the way, we don't know yet. Because of that, we guess it won't be very soon.
Anyway, we'll keep working on our little robot!
See you on Wednesday dear readers!

16/02
Hi everyone! In this class some things have happened, let's start with the good ones!
We've progressed, making a better catapult and giving Multilfie bigger wheels.
Look at it!

Multifie looking rad!

That is the good thing that happened today, now, the bad news.
It turns out that some of our pieces have suspiciously got lost. when the year began, we had loads and loads of pieces, but now, we don't have as many, and we certainly have taken care of them.
So, you can tell us what you think but, we think it's a little... suspicious, just look at this two pictures:

Before

After

21/02
Helloooooooooo!
How are things going for you dear readers? Fine, we hope.
We tested our lever, and it turns out, not really surprisingly, it does not work.
Wow! That's never happened with Alfie!Such a surprise!!
We honestly hoped it would work this time,  but it didn't.
However, don't feel bad about it, we can solve this sort of mistakes in a matter of minutes.
If you want to mknow how we end up solving them, just keep reading and see Multifie's progress!

This thing, as weird and unstable as it may seem, is our future lever, it may change through the days, but it's the best we've made so far!

23/02
Good morning/afternoon/evening or whatever conscience of decay you have in your own metaphysical map, to my fellow energy beings of outer space. Today, as you may have seen, we are a little bit out (jeje) because we know the dates of our final exams, and the distribution of them makes us want to work at a McDonald's, weird feeling, I know. We love McDonald's. Our teacher and referee has just told us that the challenge will be replaced due to the exams, obviously.
We have Alfie ready for the first part, the race, but it needs a spin put on the look and we need to calibrate the colours of our sensor.

Here you have two really incredible-looking pictures of the super cool Multifie, it's ready for the success!

25/02
Another day, another opportunity to ruin it!! Just joking readers, we are just upset with the exams, but in this class we are going to leave all that behind to really focus on the robot.
We have just calibrated the colours and experimented with the power of our motors, we did some simple mathematical operations and concluded that if we lowered the speed in the race, the robot will be more powerful when it stops, so it won't lose time trying to start again to gain power. We promise that it makes sense, and with this adjustation we will have more opportunities to win.

02/o3
We are waiting for Alfie to run, we expect that it will end up in a good place in this challenge because of the adjustations that we told you last day.
We are a litlle nervous because of Multifie and the challenge, and we don't know if you feel even a little like this.
Let's think that, somehow, you are a little nervous, like us, let's calm you by showing you beautiful pictures of our baby Multifie:

Alfie is sure a good-looking robot, it's got the drip๐Ÿ˜Ž

And after this, we'll focus on the challenge.

WE WON!!!! WE TOLD YOU.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS!
We're so happy with Multyifie and with how he's done the challenge, he was absolutely great!
Next day will take place the lasting challenges, and we are not that hopeful... we will see.

But now, here we have some videos of Multifie running!
Look at it! Go Multifie!!!!!!!

Our best time was 4 seconds 29 miliseconds, which is actually fantastic! We are so happy with this results!

09/o3
We did the worse in both of the challenges, throwing and fighting. But we have to say that the throwing challenge resulted better than expected.
Our robot did a backflip trying to scape, sounds cool but for our ranking it isn't.
So our marking is:

Race ---> First ones
Throwing ---> Last ones
Fighting ---> Last ones

And now, here you have some videos for both of the challenges:

Fighting challenge

And here, you can see the fighting program:

There are two videos to show you Alfie's journey through this challenge because it was impossible to put such flamboyance in just one video, Multifie's fights were too great to just be put in one video!
Even blogger doesn't let us put such greatness together!
At the end of the second video, Multifie gets dumped very clearly, we're sad it's our robot that gets dumped, but it is really funny to watch!
Hey you reader! Watch the videos, you will have anice time laughing at our poor Multifie (even we've laughed at him a little)
It didn't win this challenge, but it showed resistance and perseverance!
Alfie wasn't a winner this time, but it will always be a fighter!

Catapult throwing challenge

Here you can see how the challenge went, and with really good music!๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž

This has been the last competition challenge that we have taken part in. The next months we will be programming and building other kind of things, you will be seeing, it's a surprise...!

But we will have Alfie for a long more, don't be worried!!
