CHALLENGE 2: FLASHFIE

 THE SWIMMER CHALLENGE

In this challenge, we have to design a robot that follows the trajectories which the pool (picture below) has and reaches the last black mark stopping on it.

The one who does it in less time wins.

I hope we get a good place in this challenge and maybe even win!πŸ˜„πŸŒŸ

29/10

The first thing we did was rebuilding our robot and fixing its mistakes, we've made it stronger and better, before this rebuild, if you grabbed Alfie, it broke,we thought it was normal, but this thing didn't happen to other groups.

Turns out the crazy wheel was also a problem too, so we have to make it again, we hope it's good this time.😁

03/11

In this class we built the crazy wheel,we spent the whole class making it,and something good came out of it,we believe it will be better than the other one and a lot more suitable for the robot.

Our robot with its new wheel

08/11

In this class we started to make our new program for the robot, since the challenge is different.

We also renamed our robot, adapting its name to this challenge, which values the robot's velocity.

Now the robot's name is Flashfie, from Flash + Alfie.

1O/11

We translated and wrote some sentences with important computer words in english,we also realised that our robot migth have some problems with the big wheels and the gears, but this time,we think that our program is ok.😊We did it in this class and we think that it will work flawlessly.

12/11

This was the last day we had to finish our robot, the program and the construction, but, there was a huge problem we had noticed just now, the sensor didn't work well, and that made the program turn out awful.

It was such a shame this happened in the last day, because we didn't have much time to solve this difficulty.😞
15/11
Today, was the day.
We had only 20 minutes to solve all of our problems and make the necessary last-minute changes.

The finished program

In this stressing and frentic moments, many things happened to our Flashfie.
First, we told our teacher that our color sensor worked horribly, and we thought of many things that could cause our problem, it could be the EV3 block, the sensor, the cable, the computer, etc.
In the end it was the cable, and we solved the sensor issue, but later, we had an idea:what if we took the gears off the robot? We did it
And ...
IN THE END:
We ended up being the last ones again.😞
Our program didn't work well and besides, the sensor also didn't work.
Being at the bottom again was so frustrating, so, for the next challenge, we're going to make an effort and give the best of ourselves.πŸ˜€
